Description
The Sonographer works as part of the medical team performing clinical and clerical duties necessary to provide primary healthcare. The Sonographer is responsible for performing obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound examinations at a technical level in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements. The Sonographer will assume responsibility for the safe, efficient and proper operation of the ultrasound equipment. Other duties also include educating patients on procedures, documenting all procedure data into patient file, and maintaining ultrasound equipment.
Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiology Technology program or graduate of a post-secondary allied health profession program and on-the-job training with registered sonographer.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire
ARDMS board certification
ARDMS board certification in ABD and OB within 6 months of hire.
Proficiency in English required, Spanish preferred.
