Getting started with VA

Welcome to VA. Whether you transitioned out of service recently or decades ago—or you’re the family member or caregiver of a Veteran—we can help you find and apply for the benefits you’ve earned and deserve. We provide benefits to support you throughout your life.

Providing Health Care for Veterans

The Veterans Health Administration is America’s largest integrated health care system, providing care at 1,380 health care facilities, including 170 medical centers and 1,193 outpatient sites of care of varying complexity (VHA outpatient clinics), serving 9.1 million enrolled Veterans each year.

VA has renewed its focus to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all Veterans and employees. VA’s new mission statement reflects a new VA that is intent on creating an environment where all have equitable opportunities to thrive, including women, LGBTQ+ individuals and underserved populations.

“To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise to care for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors.”

Hampton has a rich and extensive 20th-century military history - home of Langley Air Force Base, the nation's first military installation dedicated solely to air power and the home of the U.S. Air Force's 633rd Air Base Wing and 1st and 192nd Fighter Wings. Hampton has been a center of military aviation training, research and development for nearly a hundred years, from early prop planes and Zeppelins to rocket parts and advanced fighters. Its proximity to Norfolk means that Hampton has long been home to many Navy families. Hampton is home to several arts venues and museums dedicated to Hampton's rich history. Notable venues in the city include The American Theatre, the Casemate Museum, the Charles Taylor Visual Arts Center, Hampton History Museum, Hampton University Museum, the Performing & Creative Arts Center, and the Virginia Air & Space Center.

If you love the beach, enjoy music/art, and appreciate the military-look no further & come care for veterans as a Primary Care Physician in our Chesapeake, VA clinic!  Our Physician Provider will be based out of the main outpatient clinic, as we provide the best whole-health care for veterans in an outpatient setting! The patient pool for our Primary Care Physician is 1200 assigned veterans with an allotted daily patient load of 13-totaling 30-hours a week dedicated to face-to-face care.
